- 2.5g of baking powder
- 2.5g vanilla essence
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
- Sliced almonds, for garnish (optional)
Preparation:
- Preheat: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- Orange purees: Wash the oranges thoroughly. Place into a pot filled with water and boil until soft. Strain the water and blend to a puree. Chill.
- Combine Ingredients: easy all in method. In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix with a paddle to combine.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared x6 indent silicone mould that has be lightly sprayed with oil. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cake is firm to touch. Don’t wait for colour to show on the surface as this will be over baked and dry.
- Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the moulds for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve: Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar and garnish with sliced almonds if desired or pipe cream cheese icing along the top.
